Dr. Thomas B Baylis received his bachelor science (B. S.) degree in exercise physiology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1992. He later earned his Dr. of medicine degree from the University of Mississippi school of medicine in 2000. In 2005 he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Tennessee College of medicine Chattanooga at Erlanger medical center. He then completed his fellowship training in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine from the prestigious American sports medicine Institute in Birmingham Alabama under Dr. James Andrews and Dr.Lawrence Lemack in 2006. There he worked with the Auburn University football team helping provide sports medicine coverage. After completing his training he moved back to his hometown of Hattiesburg to begin his practice. Since returning to Hattiesburg Dr. Baylis has been active in helping provide sports medicine coverage to local high school teams including North Forest high school where he graduated. In December 2008 he and his partner Dr. Jeffrey Burns opened premier orthopedics and sports medicine where they currently practice.
In his free time Dr. Baylis enjoys aviation, hunting, and sporting clays and skeet shooting.
Dr. Baylis is married to Karen Bullock from seminary. They have two children Madison and Meghan.
