Dr. Jeffrey A. Burns, is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He moved to Mississippi after completing his fellowship in joint replacement at Florida orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
He received his B. S. Degree in chemistry from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. He then received a Masters in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia medical school in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency in June 2004 from State University of New York at Stony Brook and Stony Brook, New York.
Dr. Burns, along with Dr. Thomas Baylis opened Premier Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in December 2008 where he continues his practice today. He specializes in adult joint reconstruction. He was the first surgeon in Hattiesburg to perform anterior hip replacements using the HANA table. He also was the first surgeon in Mississippi to use the Omni apex robotic assisted Praxim navigation system for his total knee replacements. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and Mississippi Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Burns is married to the former Cynthia Blaney of New York.
